Top Left: We woke up and it was absolutely FREEZING. Of course I hadn’t done the washing so I had to chuck on whatever was in Laelas cupboard and this is what she end up wearing – bear beanie, thick pink socks, bright pink tracky pants, bright red jumper and a white cloth as her bib. ha ha. Poor thing. She still makes it look so cute though!

Top Right: This seems to be what is happening every morning when Laela wakes up. Her clothes are alll pulled out of her cupboards. Until I get a baby lock for her wardrobe I am using sticky tape! ha ha

Bottom Right: She is so full of life and energy! And not to mention cheekiness! I love it. I wouldn’t want her anyway! She keeps things interesting! :)

Bottom Left: Laela must take after me – I too love love LOVE my spaghetti with meat sauce. I think most people have at least one picture of themselves when they were a kid with a Spaghetti Bolognese face!

Free VIP tickets!

How!? Well, the company I work for got the free VIP tickets to the NZ Breakers vs Sydney Kings Basketball game and no one was able to go so they called me up! Boy was it AWESOME! I had been to a few basketball games ‘back in the day’ and I loved it just as much then. So, to sit in the VIP seats next to my buddy Jess, my big fat plate of roast, endless supply of sprite and water, FREE T-Shirts and front row seats to the cheerleaders was great! ha ha ha The ball even came my way and I had to hand it back to a player – ha ha ha! Oh! AND I made it on TV. FAMOUS!!!!

Mmmmm Roast! Because the game was on St. Patricks day, the half time show were Irish Dancers – pretty cool. Better than wanna be Cheerleaders!

Half time score! It was such a close game!! Neck and neck the whole time! I was cheering for both teams. I really wanted the Sydney Kings to win because I am from Australia. But I was definitely out numbered!!

Well done Breakers! They came out on top. Sydney should have won it though. Too many silly mistakes in the last 12 seconds of the games cost them! Oh well! Definitely loved watching the game!

her hands anymore, she kept rubbing it on her face and was trying to get the paint off her hands by rubbing them together, but it ended up making more mess. ha ha ha. Ohhh Laela!

So! This week our big adventure was off to the pools! I had never really noticed the ‘kids’ area before and was pleasantly surprised when I got into the pool that the kids pool was HEATED! How nice!!! Otherwise Laela could have been swimming by herself! ha ha ah jokes! So we met up with a few other Mums and their kiddiwinkles and they splished and splashed until their little hearts were content! Laela went under water for the first time (other than her bath), what a brave girl! I think I was more paranoid about it then her! Then she soon became confident and was jumping off the edge of the pool into my arms! Very entertaining!

P.S. When it was time to get dressed my friends minded Laela for me while I got changed and because I was rushing to quickly get changed I walked straight into the mens changing room!!!!!!!!!!! Honestly, SO embarrassed and I think the guys who saw me see them were embarrassed too! ha ha ha ha! As I was realising that I had walked into the wrong changing room the guys said to me “Uhhh… wrong changing room lady!” I reminded him that I was WELL aware of that and quickly walked out! Man I am an idiot! ha ha ha

Chipmunks Play Date

A few of the Mums in our ward got together and took our kids to ‘Chipmunks’ (a HUGE indoor funky, awesome playground). It was SO much fun!! I loved it just as much as Laela! We were there for a few hours and could have stayed longer if Laela didn’t need a sleep. There were blow up castles to jump on, slide down, tunnels, puzzles, Merry-go-round, heaps of stuff!

Laela LOVED it. Gracie wasn’t so sure. ha ha

And look at this! ha ha ha! Jess loved it more than Gracie! Ohh Jessie! You crack me up!

And the Merry-go-round. When the ride had finished Laela had a bit of a tantrum… she wanted more. Lesson learnt – never put them on the ride in the first place and it can all be avoided! ha ha

We will definitely go back to Chipmunks soon! :)

Christchurch Earthquake

What devastating news. Absolutely heart breaking. I have been following the news over the past few days and it really does seem hard to believe that it has happened! It just doesn’t seem real! It is like watching a sad movie! It is so emotional. Being married and having a child now, it really does pull at the heart strings that little bit more when hearing parents looking for children, husbands looking for wives, friends looking friends. However, it is definitely wonderful to hear all the help being offered from overseas. New Zealand really does have a lot of friends.

At times like this I guess I tend to reflect on what I have and what I take for granted. I can’t tell you enough how extremely blessed I feel to know that my family are safe, to have clean running water, to have power, a nice bed to sleep in, plenty of food in my cupboards, the knowledge I have with regards to 72 hour packs and food storage. You just never know when or where it will happen and if it will happen to you. The people of Christchurch are definitely in my prayers, especially those who have lost a loved one. Praying and thinking of your Christchurch. xxxx

Carly’s 30th Birthday Bash!

Last night was our friend Carly’s 30th Birthday Party and boy was it fun!! Only 30 people were invited, and each person represented a year from 1981 – 2010. It was hilarious with what some of the people came up with! I got the year 1994, that was the year Justin Bieber was born, so I went as him. It was a bit of a last minute costume, but simple to pull together I guess. We had awards for best dressed, a model/runway show, lots of dancing, photos and plenty of food! What a fun birthday!! I love dress ups!!

I love family outtings!!

It is very entertaining watching Laela run around in open fields with no baby gates / doors stopping her! We took her to Wenderholm over the weekend and she was kicking the ball around mad and even tried to join in with a whole bunch of Polynesian kids that were playing. Laela has no shame. Jeremy joined the fun of course :)

Laela can’t get enough of it. She LOVES filling up her paddling pool with freezing cold water from the hose and then jumping in no matter what she is wearing, who is watching or what time of day. We will see if she loves the paddling pool that much in the winter!? Maybe not!?

Hahei Holiday 2011

Finally! It was time for our annual camping trip to Hahei. It is the first time I had been in 2 years and I had missed it! It is always nice to go camping with family friends. I love the tradition and it is something we definitely want to keep doing as our family gets bigger. Hahei was an absolute blast and didn’t disappoint in the slightest! Nothing beats a swimming every day at gorgeous beaches, camp games, camp showers, a little one to run after, a rocking camp site and great company!

29 years old - WOW! Next year it is going to be the big 30! Can you believe it!!

For Jeremy's birthday he wanted to do absolutely nothing. He wanted to just go with the flow, no plans, just wanted to chill out, so thats what we did! For lunch we had a delicious BBQ that he cooked (unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of it so I just took a picture of him putting the BBQ cover back on the BBQ ha ha)

We then enjoyed a nice dinner at a Thai Restaurant and went to the movies and saw Narnia. Pretty boring movie. ha ha

Christmas this year was awesome! It is neat having a littlekiddiwinkle to share the excitement and magic of Christmas with. Even though there was NO interest from Laela whatsoever about presents (except one - picture below) it was still magical! The day was spent with both sides of the family and lots of food! Mmm yum.

Can someone please tell me WHY potatoes are so darn expensive??? What happened to them being cheap!?!? I don't understand how a 5kg bag of potatoes costs $10.99. It is ridiculous and has caused me to blog about it! ha ha. Looks like there wont be potatoe salad with our BBQ any time soon!

Vegie Garden

I have really got into the vegie garden this year. My attempt last year was very poor. I just planted the goods in the ground and hoped they would grow and produce something yummy to eat! But obviously, didn't have much luck.

However, THIS year I have been super good! We have planted lettuces (already eaten all six - time to plant some more!!), cucumber, rhubarb, tomato's, zucchini, coriander and parsley. I have been watering, weeding and singing to my plants and the result has been much better already!

I haven't taken very good photos of my garden but here are my out of control vegies!

3 yr Anniversary!

Time flies when your having fun!! Can't believe it has been 3 years already! Have absolutely loved it :)

Jeremy was his usual FABULOUS, ROMANTIC, HUNK-A-SPUNK self. We had a great day! Started out with lots of presents and gorgeous flowers....

Then off we went to Zavito's for dinner. Food was sooo yummy! I forgot to get a picture of the food, we ate it too fast ;) I had the lamb and Jeremy had the Chicken - no surprises there!

Then we went to the Auckland Stardome. It was pretty cool. We bought tickets off grabone. $15 for the two of us. Bargain!

Beach Day

The weather is warming up so we thought we would go to the beach with the beach toys. It is funny watching Laela so fascinated by sand! Such a simple thing. It was really nice to get out in the fresh air with Jeremy and Laela. She ate a lot of sand and loved watching the seagulls.

Laela's Monkey

Laela was wide awake and wasn't planning on falling asleep any time soon, so Grandpapa (my Dad) thought he would play a game with Laela.

Laela is super in love with her monkey, which if you look closely is right under the pink barbie dress ha ha, so Dad would stack all the random toys to see if she could find the monkey... and boy did she find her monkey!!

She would start from the other side of the room, we would ask her, "Where is monkey??" then she would storm over to the stack of toys and yank out her toy monkey and walk off. ha ha. It was actually the funniest thing! Girl with attitude!!

The other day Laela was having a bit of a grumpy day and I couldn't leave her with her toys to get dinner ready without her getting upset! So she joined me in the kitchen instead... helping! I must admit... it was pretty funny watching her feel the vegetables and even put them in her mouth raw and not being phased by it at all.

Allergy Friendly Cake

So I have to admit, I struggle with Laela'a allergies when it comes to thinking of new and exciting things to cook! I was looking online for a cake that I could make that would be nut free, egg free and dairy free... AND I found one!

SO! Today Carly & Ashton, Jessie & Grace, Jackie & Caleb came over for hot chocolates and I decided to make the cake for morning tea, so yes they were to be my guinea pigs for taste testing the cake!

I must admit, I didn't have high hopes for this cake but it was a hit!! Very moist! The girls said that you wouldn't even be able to tell that it was allergy friendly. I topped the cake with icing sugar and raspberries. Mmm mm! I think I may have found Laela's birthday cake :)

First Mothers Day

What a perfect Day!

First of all, Laela gave me the best present by sleeping through the whole night! woop woop! Then she came and had cuddles with Mum before she gave me all my goodies!!

Starting with a note that she had imprinted with her feet! Now, when looking at the note, it looks like blood... but not to worry - it is tomato paste. Yes! Dad dipped Laela's feet in tomato paste and then stamped them on her note... so thoughtful! ha ha

I also got some flowers, some cookies, breakfast in bed and some other goodies :) Very spoilt!

White Choc Raspberry Cake

So for Mothers Day I decided to bake a cake for my Mother In Law (M.I.L). Laela wanted to help! So she got out the pot and wooden spoon that I needed to melt the chocolate in and started eating the spoon. But because of Laela's allergies that is as much as she could help with. This recipe pretty much involves everything she is allergic too!

And here is my creation people... I was so proud!

People tell me that it tasted pretty yum! But most importantly M.I.L enjoyed it! I have the recipe if you want it :)

Sausages Anyone?

So at 11pm last night I wanted a sausage in bread with tomato sauce and onions. So there I was cooking my almost midnight snack and of course Jeremy smelt my superb cookning (ha!) and wanted some too! Once all was cooked we jumped into bed and ate!

So here are some of the photos that we took down at Long Bay Beach (the spot that Laela and I found last week on our little adventure)... I have labelled this 'Part 1' as we didn't get any family shots all together as we didn't have a photographer. 'Part 2' is in the pipeline. So Jeremy and I just took photos of each other with Laela. It was fun!

After we had some fun in leaves, we made our way down to the beach to determine if Laela was going to be a water baby like her Dad. The photos say it all....

I thought this was so funny. I was moisturizing Laela after her bath and I turned away for a moment to get her nappy and turned back around and found her chomping on her foot. It looked hilarious! I can't get over how flexible babies are!

Autumn Photos

I am a HUGE fan of the season Autumn. I absolutley love love LOVE all the different colours - the oranges, reds, yellows, the leaves that fall from the trees, the crisp fresh air, the idea of being able to buy some warmer clothes and pull out your old ones. Autumn for me is exciting!

I have always wanted to take some really nice family photos amoungst the beauty of Autumn, so Laela and I set out to find some nice spots. We ended up exploring our local beach / park and I think we found a nice little spot where these photos can be taken.

Here we are - all set to take photos of the 'potential' family photo spot! Mummy has got the camera and Laela has got her dummy!

Along the way we found some birds! I was a bit slow with the camera so only got a picture of 2 different types of birds. Laela loved it! She kept reaching out towards the birds as if she wanted to touch them. I am sure if she was walking she would want to chase after them and possibly throw things at them. ha ha

So I think below are the spots where we could take our family photos.... What do you think?

Our first Vegie Garden!

One thing I have been looking forward to do ever since I had Laela was to plant a vegie garden. The house we now live had the garden bed boxes already in place so all it needed was some serious weeding and then it would be ready to plant some vegies.

Now they were the before shots... here are the after...

We planted lettuce, beans. basil, capsicum and some tomatos!

And there is a picture of Laela who watched (slept) through the whole thing :)

What a day / night / morning!! I never knew you could feel so many emotions in the space of 19 hours! Yes, that is right... 19 hour labour! Although it didn't really feel THAT long and I am sure women go into labour much longer than that! Nothing can really prepare you for childbirth. You can have all these expectations of what it will be like and then you just realise you have no idea! I didn't care how they got her out I just didn't want a C-Section! And they didn't need to give me one... phew!

Laela was born @ 9:12am on Friday, 18th September 2009 weighing 8.8 pound and 53cm long.

Last Days of being pregnant

The time was getting closer to my due date and Jeremy and I still hadn't taken 'nice' pregnant photos of my belly... although by the time we took these photos I was about to pop and I was getting all chubby looking! I must say my bump did look a tad ridiculous!

Finally! An update!!

Well.... a lot has happened since our 1 year anniversary.... I got pregnant! ha ha

I am due on 9th September '09 and we are both super excited! I was quite sick for the first 2 1/2 months but the worst is over!! I don't know how woman handle being sick the whole 9 months... I just wanted to die!! And that was only after 2 and a bit months of being sick! ha!

So now that I have started to feel a bit better we have started shopping for baby stuff! The other day we bought a cot.... we got it off good old trademe... it was a gift from my mumma and dad so we have been lucky...

Also, I was looking on good old trade me again and found ourselves a really good quality pram with a bassinet... so we bought that today for a super good price so I am 1 happy girl!

Isn't it so preeetty! ha! Now, all we need to know is if it is a boy or girl so we can start buying some seriously cute baby clothes!! :)

Our 1 YEAR wedding anniversary!!

What a romantic and beautiful evening!! Yesterday, Monday 17th november 08 Jeremy and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary! To be completely honest I hadn't really thought much about it as leading up to it we were quite involved with our friend's wedding, work was mental and well... you know how it goes! So Jeremy and I decided that we would just go out to a nice restaurant for dinner and would go stay at a hotel this coming weekend... but no! Jeremy thought he would be super romantic and do this....

I got home from work ready to jump in the shower then head off to dinner, instead Jeremy raced to the door, blindfoled me and walked me to our bedroom door, I could hear our wedding song being played... he opened the door and asked me take the blindfold off... and this is what I saw....

Our bedrom had been completely transformed! It was absolutely beautiful and soo romantic! He told me that he knew I wanted to stay in a hotel the actual weekend of our anniversary but didn't because of the wedding being on that same weekend, so he brought the hotel to me! The room had roses, chocolates, candles, fairy lights, more roses, a tv (ready for a movie), towels, bubbly - everything we needed :)

We then left to go to a lovely indian restaraunt by the beach which was divine and made our way home to enjoy our bubbly and company!

It was a perfect anniversary! Perfect... just like our wedding day! Love you jeremy xoxo

Here you have it people! My first run in the morning for the year... or it could be my first run for the year... ha ha.

Last night we had dinner with the family and I anncounced that Jeremy and I are going to go for a run in the morning, there was silence while they all looked at each other and burst out laughing (as this wasn't the first time I have said that and not followed through.) "Yeah right!" they all said.

But I let them know that this time I was SERIOUS and I would proove them ALLLL wrong and I did!! I got my fat butt out of bed and off we went!

My Dental Check up!

Ok, so I went to the dentist this afternoon for my yearly check up which was a few years late! Woops! I walk into the dentist straight away and instantly smell that dentist smell (you know exactly what smell I am talking about), the receptionist with her perfect white teeth welcomes me ever so nicely because she knows what I am in for. A date with the dentist and his scary tools!

Soooo there I am, waiting waiting for the scary dentist to usher me into 'the chair' with the birght light in my mouth (I was hoping he would give me the cool sunglasses to wear but maybe he only gives them to kids... haaa!) and away he goes... chipping, cleaning, hammering away at my teeth as he told me that my teeth needed a good clean but everything else was perfect!

Going to this appointment I had been told by the receptionist (with the perfect white teeth) that it would cost me $40. But once the dentist was done with me the bill was $130!!!!!!! Ouch!!

You are probably thinking my teeth are terrible if it cost me that much! But no no no... which brings me exactly to my point... DENTISTS ARE RIP OFFS!!

Maybe Jeremy should become a dentist.... hmmm...

Christmas will be in Melbourne this year... I can't wait! It will probably be the last time our WHOLE family will be all together again, so I will be soaking up every minute of it! It will also be the first time Jeremy will meet all my extended family... the poor guy... I am glad we got married before he met them - otherwise he could have very easily changed his mind!

Well, I got home from work, plopped my bag on the table, kissed the husband and went straight to the kitchen to cook some food for dinner..

After Jeremy & I had eaten dinner (we had burritos - so yum!) I went to the bedroom to get into some comfy clothes when I noticed a subtle, 'Drip, drip, drip....' I didnt think much of it as it was wet outside and thought it was just coming off the window... I then turned on the bedroom light and there was a nice puddle of water in our bed!! Our bedroom ceiling was leaking!!

Thank goodness we didnt make our bed that day, only our pillows and mattress got wet, so we we were glad we still had a dry blanket.

The plumber then came over and started to cut through all the gib... the roof was quite saggy! Full of water! Which I thought was quite exciting!! Exciting enough that i asked if he wouldnt mind if i took photos! ha ha ha.

So, seeing as it didnt look like the room would be fixed before bed time... Jeremy started blowing up our air bed.... which he was really happy about... haha.

Nah, He didn't mind tooooooo much :) I just felt like a little girl all night... I thought it was all so much fun (probably coz the landlords pay for the bill) and we got to camp out in our lounge!!

For those of you who don't know, my Dad and I work together along with another lady in the office... He is currently and Niue inspecting one of the projects we are building and things have been absolute flat chat in the office since he has left...

Late in the afternoon today I got this photo updating me on how Dad is actually doing....

This here is a picture of what happens when you fall off a ladder on a construction site... a fractured elbow and fractured wrist on each arm... poor Dad :(

Carnival Day

Wooohoooo! The day for the Carnival had arrived and I was looking forward to getting there... Candy floss, hot dogs, pop corn, jumping castles, toffee apples, face painting, arm wrestles... you name it and it was there! I think I was getting more into the Carnival than the kids!

There was however one ride that was my favorite, which may I add, I won a prize for being the BEST at! I dont know what it was called - but I am going to call it...

THE BUNGY RUNNING THINGY!

Yes, thats right people... I won the prize for being the best at THe Bungy Running Thingy! I have even got it on video to proove just how good I was.... My friend Candice however, she had issuses with me beating her... I do have it on video but for some reason it wont let me upload the proof! So here are some pictures instead...

(If you look closely... I am aiming for the hand, Candice just made it to the end...then she bales... ha haha)

In the end she ended up winning "Guess how many lollies are in the jar" I wont tell you how... (fluke!!) but she did.... So we were all happy :)

Aaron had his 18th Birthday Party with the theme being ' Nacho Libre' ... Jeremy and I organised an AMAZING Nacho Libre Race for the night... every one invited had to dress up and be ready for a night of fun!

I think they all enjoyed themselves...

My 20th Birthday

The big day had finally arrived! I woke up at 3am from a txt going off on my phone from my darling friend (who will remain anonymous) wishing me a Happy Birthday! I didn't find myself very Happy after reading it... but it is the thought that counts right? ;)

So on the eve of my birthday (day # 2 of birthday week) I was in bed at about 10pm and Jeremy came in acting like a waiter (ha ha!) and started to welcome me to "Hotel Jeremy" he then presented me with a menu and on the other side of the menu there was a poem about me (the picture below) and told me to tick what i wanted for breakfast the next morning... so i did!

I woke up the next morning to more txts on my phone (at a reasonable hour!) wishing me a Happy Birthday and a beautifully presented breakfast by Jeremy!

Once we had enjoyed a bacon and egg breakfast, Jeremy then presented me with a lunch menu, with a poem about me on it to, in which I had 3 options to choose from...

1. Chinese
2. Burger Fuel
3. Lunch cooked by Jeremy at home with a massage

I picked option # 1 - Chinese!!! It was sooo yumm0!! We ate it at the beach and went for a little walkies... it was so perfect!

You probably already guessed it.... once we were done with lunch he presented me with a Evening Choice Menu with a poem about me on it also....

Due to the weather, we were unable to do any of the options (Haha) but will DEFINITELY take a rein check! So instead, I decided I wanted to go out to dessert with the family, so what better place than Denny's!! ha ha.

Then after I got a fat bum from eating an Oreo Sunday... Jeremy and I watched 'Enchanted' in bed... I am totally in love with that movie!! It makes me laugh so much! All in all, it was an awesome birthday! And behind it was the husband, Jeremiah! Who was, very exhausted after putting on a great day! (He even cleaned the house - spotless!) I felt like a princess and that was the main thing!

Soo... a big thank you to Jeremy for making my day perfect!

Day 2 of Birthday week... not doing so good...

My back wisdom tooth of the bottom left side of my mouth is KILLING me!! It is trying to cut through my gum - the silly thing! I woke up this morning not being able to move my mouth and even talk (lucky for Jeremy some of you say! haa!) I am putting on 'Medijel' to numb the pain, but just like most drugs or medicine... its not strong enough!

This wisdom tooth better shape up before my birthday day tomorrow or else it'll be hearing about it!

TO ME!

Alrighty people... as of today my birthday week has offically started!!! So I thought I would start the week off with posting myself a Happy Birthday Blog!

This Wednesday, 14th May 2008 will be my 20th Birthday! I think Jeremy is looking forward to it more than me... he will no longer be married to a TEENAGER! ha ha ha.

I am not too sure what is in store for me on my birthday as I have left it all up to husband to spoil me... and knowing Jeremy, he will have some thing good up his sleeve (as always!) so I am looking forward to it!

I will keep you posted on how my birthday week is coming along!

Our Wedding Day!

On th 17th November 2007 Jeremy and I were sealed in the LDS temple for Time and All Eternity.
It actually was the best day of my life! Nothing went wrong and every one did what they were told (ha!) There were so many who helped out that the list would go on forever! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day... thank you.... hopefully the pictures say it all...

I love being married! :)

Our First Christmas 2007

Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas!

ha ha. ok ok.. So it is a little late... but better late than never eh!
Our very first Christmas consisted of our Christmas celebrations in the morning and an absolute delish bacon and egg breaky made by moi! Then off we went to the Higgins home for christmas lunch and then to the Locks for Christmas Dinner... boy oh boy... we were sooo full afterwards! Well, actually, it was just me... Jeremy has learned to control himself around food... I am still getting there! ha ha
All in all it was a wonderful day! I was thinking a lot of family back home in Melbourne x
